Hudson Contract is a leading provider of payroll and compliance services for the UK construction industry. With a strong focus on communication and content creation, they approached Nolan Interiors to help bring their video production in-house.

Rob from Hudson Contract reached out with a clear goal: to create a dedicated in-house podcast and video space. Previously, they had been using an external studio in Manchester but wanted a consistent, cost-effective setup that could be used regularly by their team – particularly their Managing Director, for podcasts, solo videos, and other content.
The key requirements were:
Nolan Interiors began with a General Arrangement to establish the layout and flow of the space. Once approved, the project moved into the visualisation stage, where 3D renders helped bring the concept to life.
The client’s inspiration was the interiors of Hawksmoor Steak House’s. While unconventional for a podcast studio, the rich textures, dark woods, and ambient lighting of Hawksmoor provided the perfect mood board for a warm, indulgent aesthetic. This direction aligned well with Hudson’s construction industry roots, allowing for the use of raw materials and tactile finishes.
The project ran over a couple of weeks, with a carefully sequenced schedule to ensure smooth progress. Tasks such as flooring, wall construction, electrical work, and furniture installation were coordinated to avoid overlap and maintain quality.
Despite the layered nature of the build, the project was delivered on time, with minimal snagging and a high level of client satisfaction.
Hudson Contract now has a bespoke podcast and video space that combines functionality with a distinctive visual identity. The studio offers consistent lighting and a repeatable setup, allowing their team to produce high-quality content with ease.
Through meaningful collaboration you are able to implement a design that you love, in a way that is stress-free, efficient and enjoyable.
