How We Designed a Bespoke In-House Podcast Space for Hudson Contract
Creating a professional in-house podcast and video space isn’t just about putting a camera in a room – it’s about designing a space that looks consistent, works seamlessly, and reflects your brand. That’s exactly what we delivered for Hudson Contract.
Bringing Video Production In-House
Hudson Contract wanted to reduce costs and produce more video content in-house, from solo videos to podcasts. The brief was simple but crucial:
- A space that could be filmed anytime, with consistent lighting
- A professional, repeatable setup for cameras
- A design that looked good on camera and reflected their brand
Consistency was key, whether the MD filmed today or in two months, the space would always look exactly the same.
From Concept to Visualisation
Every project starts with a general arrangement (GA) to map out the layout. For Hudson:
- We ensured the space flowed functionally
- We confirmed it met their video production needs
Next came 3D visualisation. This was a fun challenge because the client referenced the interiors of Hawksmoor steak houses as inspiration.
They wanted:
- Warm, dark, indulgent aesthetics
- Rich textures and patterns
- Ambient, cosy lighting
The result? A video space that felt inviting, luxurious, and highly functional – perfect for creating content.
Key Design Features
To bring the brief to life, we combined practical elements with stylish design:
- Herringbone LVT flooring, for warmth and texture.
- Stud walls with brick slips, for visual interest.
- Ambient lighting, via pendants and wall lights.
- Furniture selection featuring:
- Amelia chairs by Boss in deep blue faux leather.
- A textured red chair for variety.
- Dark wood coffee table, from Flock.
- Wooden dividers and curtains, to finish the look.
This combination of materials and colours created a space that’s as visually appealing as it is functional.
Smooth Project Delivery
The project included multiple stages that needed careful coordination:
- Flooring uplift and relay.
- Stud wall and brick slip installation.
- Electrical works for lighting.
- Furniture and curtain installation.
Despite the complexity, the project ran efficiently over a couple of weeks with minimal snagging. Hudson Contract now has a polished, professional podcast and video space that supports high-quality content creation.
Why It Works
This project shows that a commercial video space doesn’t have to feel sterile or purely functional. With the right design, materials, and planning, it can:
- Reflect your brand identity.
- Support all your content creation needs.
- Look consistent and professional on every shoot.
Hudson Contract now has a space they can be proud of, a room that’s stylish, functional, and ready for any video project.
