OceanBlue are a global logistics provider who employ 60 people within the group. Inline with our corporate strategy of creating a new modern open plan office we chose to renovate our head office in North Lincolnshire.

the challenge

Initial problem –

Danny contacted Nolan Interiors because he was currently working upstairs alongside his entire team, which led him to face a lot of distractions. He had an unused space downstairs and wanted to convert it into a private office – designed for focused solo work, whilst also serving as a professional setting for hosting meetings.

Discovery and approach –

Nolan Interiors took the time to understand Danny’s workflow, daily tasks and functional needs. By aligning the design with his aesthetic preferences and work habits, Nolan Interiors ensured the space would enhance the functionality for his workflow.

the solution

Nolan Interiors designed a sophisticated office space that seamlessly incorporates OceanBlue’s branding, alongside rich wooden tones, reflecting the heritage of a business that’s been around for over 20 years. Carefully planned, the layout includes a dedicated workspace for focused tasks, a professional meeting zone and a comfortable lounge space where Danny could unwind during breaks.

the execution

Project timeline –

The transformation included new flooring, wooden cladding, creation of kitchen, and full furniture installation. Once on-site the project was completed within just 2 weeks. To ensure a smooth process Nolan Interiors assigned a PM to visit the site daily, to keep Danny informed with the progress being made, addressing any questions along the way.

Collaboration and communication –

From the start Nolan Interiors worked closely with Danny to understand the exact atmosphere he envisioned for his space. Nolan Interiors produced 2D and 3D visuals to help showcase their ideas. After a couple of weeks refining the design, Danny was confident that the solution provided was what he needed and proceeded to move forward with bringing his vision to life.

the outcome

The outcome of the project was that Danny now has a new home to head his business from. He is enjoying focussed work whilst still having the freedom to go upstairs to collaborate with his team. The project was delivered on time and on budget and Nolan Interiors have subsequently been asked to look at further space in his building.
